A short film, Children of Mars, which she co-wrote with Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet was released with the second season of Star Trek: Shorts. She is currently in the room for season 3, consulting for Discovery, as well as developing new series, both Trek and non- Trek. In 2020, she added co-executive producer of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds to her duties, joining the writer's room and co-writing an episode for them in season 2. She served as a supervising producer on the first season and a co-executive producer on the second. In 2017, she pitched a premise for a new series centered around one of Star Trek's most beloved captains, Jean-Luc Picard and became one of that series' co-creators along with Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman and Michael Chabon. She has worked on all five seasons of Discovery as a staff writer, executive story editor, co-producer and consulting producer. In 2016, she joined the writing staff of CBS All Access's Star Trek: Discovery series. She has also written several articles for Star Trek magazine. She contributed the short story "Isabo's Shirt" to the Star Trek: Distant Shores anthology as well as the short story "Widow's Weeds" to Space Grunts.
